Job Summary
Assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents in a Cogir Senior Living community, collaborate with the Active Living Manager and Executive Director, maintain department records, communicate effectively with residents and families, participate in in-service education, escort residents on pre-arranged outings, assist with activity assessments and daily activities, support meal services as required, and uphold the organization’s ethics and integrity while providing a compassionate, engaged environment for seniors.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent
- Previous experience working with seniors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly
- Valid provincial driver's license to transport residents by van (i.e.: Class 4; Class F)
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
