Job Summary
Activation Aide supports resident programming and engagement in a long-term care community by coordinating, planning, and facilitating activities; handling documentation, assessments, care plans, and evaluation of programs; collaborating with therapy programs (e.g., pet, music, art) to enhance resident well-being; requires a post-secondary credential in a related field, First Aid/CPR, Food Handler certification, and completion of required background checks; role involves direct interaction with residents, setup and teardown of activities, and ongoing documentation of progress, attendance, and quarterly reviews; part-time position located in Brampton, Ontario with Sienna Senior Living and includes compliance with provincial screening and accommodations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or related field
- Current Standard and/or Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification
- A valid Food Handlers Certificate
- Previous experience in program planning, documentation, and evaluation
- Must meet provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements
- Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check (Ontario and British Columbia applicants)
