ACT Substance Abuse Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct substance use screenings, assessments, and ongoing reassessments utilizing ASAM and DSM criteria to determine member needs and readiness for change. Provide individual and group substance use counseling, education, and recovery planning while delivering outreach, engagement, and harm reduction services in clinic, home, and community settings. Serve as the ACT Team's subject matter expert on substance abuse disorders, co-occurring disorders, and evidence-based treatment interventions. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary care team to implement integrated co-occurring programs consistent with ACT and IDDT standards. Coordinate care with detoxification programs, residential treatment facilities, MAT providers, hospitals, criminal justice systems, and community recovery supports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or related field
- Two (2) years of experience working with adults diagnosed with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), co-occurring disorders, or substance use disorders
- Any combination of education and behavioral health experience totaling six (6) years, including at least two (2) years working with individuals diagnosed with Serious Mental Illness, co-occurring disorders, or substance use disorders
- Fingerprint clearance card issued by the AZ Department of Public Safety or eligible to receive one within eight (8) weeks of hire
- Reliable transportation
- Valid AZ Driver's License with state minimum insurance coverage and ability to meet and maintain Copa Health's acceptable driving requirements
- Pre-Employment Criminal Background and Drug Testing
