Job Summary
Governance volunteer role for Australian Red Cross Division Councillor, term up to three years with eligibility for re-appointment for two additional three-year terms. Responsibilities include promoting ARC activities, recruiting members and volunteers, fundraising, facilitating communication between members and Board/management, governing local Branches/Regions/Zones, and advising on issues affecting the Division. The role requires attending Division Council meetings, participating in Division Committees, and travel within the Division. Eligible applicants must be ARC members, meet background-check requirements, and comply with the ARC Code of Conduct and related child-safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Be a member of the Australian Red Cross within the Division
- At least 18 years of age
- Hold, or be able to obtain, a National Criminal History Check
- Hold, or be able to obtain, a Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check in the Division
- Not be employed by Australian Red Cross or Australian Red Cross Lifeblood (including within 12 months of appointment or election)
- Undertake Australian Red Cross’ volunteer induction and other ongoing learning and development opportunities
- Comply with the Australian Red Cross’ Code of Conduct, Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy and our Child Safe Code of Conduct
- Be a member for at least six months at the time of nomination
- Meet the governance requirements and participate in meetings and travel within the Division
