Job Summary
Maintenance Generalist responsible for a wide range of maintenance, repair, and operational duties to ensure school district facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Performs routine maintenance and repairs across multiple trades (carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping) and supports preventive maintenance, equipment installation, and system troubleshooting. Requires strong communication skills, ability to work with various departments, proficiency with diagnostic tools and software, ability to operate vehicles, and reliability for after-hours or emergency coverage. Reports to the Executive Director of Operations and collaborates with safety and risk management to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in indoor/outdoor environments; on-call availability and occasional evenings/weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years related experience
- Ability to utilize power/hand tools and multi meters
- Reliable transportation
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and hazardous chemicals
- Proficient with MS Office (word-processing, spreadsheets, databases)
- Understanding of Energy Management, HVAC and Refrigeration
- Ability to read and understand instructions and procedures
- Experience in educational setting preferred
