Job Summary
Negotiate real estate transactions involving purchase, donation, condemnation, or lease to acquire property interests for the community and environment. Resolve acquisition problems by applying sound judgment, knowledge of local, state, and federal codes, and eminent domain laws. Perform skillful, fair, and effective negotiations while overcoming objections to secure clear title through investigative discussions with owners. Justify settlements via written reports and presentations to management, and maintain project files within the Real Estate Management Division's tracking system. Work with limited supervision while ensuring compliance with project requirements, division objectives, and state statutes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business or Public Administration or a closely related field
- three years of, right-of-way acquisition, real estate negotiation experience
- equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience
- valid Driver's License
- ability to obtain a Florida Drivers License within six months of hire
- ability to obtain a notary license within six months of hire
- strong and effective oral and written communications skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the negotiation and acquisition of real estate under threat of eminent domain
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and windows applications
