Acoustical Ceiling Mechanic

Job Summary
Install suspended acoustical ceiling grid systems, measure and cut tiles, and coordinate installation around HVAC, lighting, and sprinkler systems. Read blueprints, establish elevations using lasers, and install seismic bracing and hanger wire per code requirements. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards. Communicate effectively with foremen, project managers, and other trades on-site. Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines. Full-time position with travel benefits; company-paid lodging and per diem provided only when assigned to work outside the designated local radius. Candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for projects within the local work radius.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience installing acoustical/suspended ceiling systems
- Strong understanding of commercial construction practices and jobsite safety
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Experience using lasers, tape measures, levels, and layout tools
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Employment contingent upon passing Drug Test, Physical, and E-Verify
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA certification
- Experience with specialty ceiling systems, clouds, baffles, and custom grid layouts
- Experience coordinating with framing/drywall crews and other interior finish trades
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Leadership capability for advancement into Foreman roles
