Job Summary
Layout and install acoustical ceiling systems, including suspension grids, framing components, and ceiling supports on commercial and federal construction projects. Read and interpret blueprints, reflected ceiling plans, and construction documents to ensure proper alignment, spacing, and elevation. Install seismic bracing and framing components in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes. Coordinate with other trades around lighting, HVAC, and sprinkler systems while inspecting completed systems for quality and compliance. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and equipment while maintaining a clean work area and following OSHA regulations. Requires minimum 3 years of commercial acoustical ceiling installation experience and ability to work safely at heights.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial acoustical ceiling installation experience preferred
- Experience working on commercial and/or federal construction projects strongly preferred
- Skilled in suspended ceiling systems, acoustical grid installation, and ceiling layouts
- Knowledge and experience with seismic framing requirements for acoustical ceilings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, reflected ceiling plans, and specifications
- Familiarity with layout tools, laser levels, and ceiling installation equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work safely at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching overhead
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel as required for project assignments
