Job Summary
Set up banquet facilities with dishware, linens, and amenities per event orders. Clean china, silverware, and tables while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Take orders, serve courses timely, and explain menu ingredients and preparation methods. Resolve guest complaints within authority limits and notify management of unusual events or thefts. Use cash registers or point-of-sale systems as needed. Assist in breaking down tables post-event and attend all staff meetings. Implement company policies and collaborate with the food and beverage director and administrative team. Work flexible schedules including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- high school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience as a server in a high volume restaurant, casino or banquet facility
- communicate effectively, both verbally and written, in English
- Excellent hospitality skills
- lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds at a time
- perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling and squatting
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- work in a noisy environment
- work well around a large number of people
- work well with people in a team environment
- function in a fast paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines
- Certification in an Alcohol Awareness Program or willingness to be certified in an Alcohol Awareness Program
- work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends and holidays
