Job Summary
Validate material and process requirements, analyze purchase requisitions against established procedures, and review supplier proposals to negotiate pricing and delivery timelines. Issue purchase orders, obtain manufacturing specifications when needed, and manage contracts and purchasing files. Follow up with suppliers to ensure product deliveries meet deadlines, update the system with latest delivery information, and identify critical situations for management communication. Visit suppliers to resolve issues as required and manage supplier performance through monitoring and feedback. Represent the Program Supply Chain at operations meetings when required.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma (DEC) Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly
- Knowledge of an MRP / ERP system
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a corporate buyer role
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the aerospace industry (an asset)
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (an asset)
