Job Summary
Accounts Receivable Representative I for a healthcare setting (Hospital for Special Surgery). Focus on managing accounts receivable, resolving payor issues, and ensuring billing accuracy. Responsibilities include coordination of enrollment in managed care plans, ensuring compliance with negotiated contracts, maintaining tracking logs, serving as liaison between physician offices and payors, and supporting meetings and documentation for PHO-related activities. Requires knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS coding, and experience with billing systems; Epic experience is preferred. Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and excellent customer service in a hospital environment are essential. Education required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred or coursework toward a degree. The role is full-time with daytime shift in New York, NY or Ronkonkoma, NY, USA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), may include specialized or vocational courses
- Associate's degree preferred or enrolled in college working toward degree
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding and Medical Terminology
- Experience in healthcare, hospitality or other customer service
- Epic experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to identify trends in third party payer denials and proactively problem solve
