Job Summary
Update patient information and handle third-party billing while following up on accounts receivable to resolve delinquent accounts. Perform all duties in accordance with Practice policies and procedures, communicating professionally with insurance representatives and patients. Maintain knowledge of HMO, PPO, Managed Care, and Indemnity plans, including current ICD and CPT codes. Possess one year of insurance collections or AR receivables experience and the ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail. Work 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with no weekend or on-call requirements at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1 year insurance collections/AR receivables experience
- Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks
- Able to communicate with insurance representatives and patients in a professional manner
- Knowledge of HMO, PPO, Managed Care and Indemnity plans
- Knowledge of current ICD codes and CPT codes
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing good customer service
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of healthcare receivables and collections, including denial and appeal processes
