Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary

Manage full-cycle accounts payable functions, including invoice review, data entry, payment processing, and credit card reconciliation. Perform AP data input into the accounting system, import payments from spreadsheets, and reconcile vendor statements to identify discrepancies. Take ownership of the AP email inbox, assign vendor inquiries, and lead on escalated issues while working closely with program staff to resolve coding discrepancies. Assist in preparing documents for the annual audit, print checks, and manage unclaimed property compliance. Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and collaborate with the AP Manager on special projects. Full-time position in Seattle starting at $24.35–$25.81/hr.

Required Qualifications

  • AA in Accounting or Finance or 3 years of equivalent experience with evidence of increasing responsibility that aligns with leading projects, team development and fostering positive employee engagement/culture
  • 2 to 4 years of progressive AP experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and Excel functionality
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations
  • Able to hear telephone rings, phone conversation, emergency alarms and client conversations
  • Ability to see to assess for safety in office and about the community
  • Able to speak clearly in person and on the telephone
  • Able to read normal size print and handwritten information
  • Able to sit for sustained periods of time
  • Mobility of hands/arms to enable use of computer and other office equipment
  • Able to make independent decisions and apply sound judgment in performing job duties
