Job Summary
Direct and manage all aspects of the Accounts Payable department, including supervising and mentoring a team of 4-6 associates. Ensure compliance with company-wide purchasing and procurement policies while overseeing daily operations, GL accuracy, and cost center processing. Serve as primary contact for vendor inquiries, manage payment runs for checks and ACH, and perform monthly reconciliations and aging reviews. Lead the implementation of automated Accounts Payable software by prioritizing automation opportunities and directing solution execution. Prepare annual 1099 and unclaimed property filings, maintain organized electronic files, and conduct ad hoc reporting and month-end accrual analysis. Collaborate with the Accounting department on compliance and efficiency improvements within this high-volume, face-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years' experience in accounts payable/purchasing functions
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time as needed
- Ability to bend, reach, file, sit, stand and move around the facility
- Ability to speak, hear and communicate with persons served, staff and external representatives
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
