Accounts Payable Lead

Job Summary
Accounts Payable Team Leader, hybrid role based 2 days per week in Handforth (Cheshire) Office, leading a five-person AP team (including two remote members) to deliver high-quality AP service across finance operations. Requires 5+ years in Accounts Payable and at least 2+ years of people-management experience. You will partner with Practices, Operations and Commercial teams, drive continuous improvement across AP processes, simplify workflows, coach colleagues and suppliers on purchasing best practices, develop and monitor KPIs, maintain supplier master data, and ensure strong controls and system integrity. Familiarity with finance ERP systems (ideally SAP S/4 HANA) and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business, including providing holiday cover for locum colleagues, are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in Accounts Payable
- 2+ years of people management/leadership experience
- solid understanding of finance ERP systems (ideally SAP S/4 HANA)
- ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- experience coaching and training colleagues, suppliers, and partners
- ability to develop and monitor KPIs and reports
- strong process improvement and problem-solving skills
- experience providing holiday cover for locum team when needed
- comfortable leading and engaging colleagues across locations (remote team experience beneficial)
- focus on accuracy, controls, and system integrity
