Job Summary
Process expenses from all Corps and Area Services into the accounting package while adhering to The Salvation Army's accounting policies and procedures. Input financial-related data into computer systems, maintain unpaid invoice files, and record and post expenses after Corps Officers advise which payables to process. Assist Corps Officers with the preparation of financial-related materials for audits and support month-end closing procedures. Institute safeguards to ensure the integrity and maintenance of the accounting system and maintain and oversee maintenance of financial documents. Provide coverage for the Accounts Receivable Clerks. Maintain strict confidentiality throughout all tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Will respect and promote the interests of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but they are required to promote and respect The Salvation Army's mission
Desired Qualifications
- An associate degree in accounting or business management, or three years of experience, is highly preferred
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and databases
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Should be well organized, show strong initiative, and have adequate follow-through
