Job Summary
Accounts Payable Clerk supports the Finance Department by processing vendor invoices and expenses, maintaining AP records and assisting with month-end close. Responsibilities include processing vendor credits and Microsoft billing, entering weekly expenses, preparing weekly check runs, matching invoices to payments, adding/updating vendor and subcontractor accounts, requesting W-9s, processing subcontractor billing, and maintaining folders in SharePoint. Requires strong Excel/Word skills, QuickBooks experience a plus, excellent communication and organizational abilities, and a solid grounding in accounting practices to ensure timely, accurate AP processing and vendor/payee inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Some college a plus
- 3 - 5 years experience in an accounting position
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to use QuickBooks a plus
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
- Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external customers
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize activities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Working knowledge of key accounting practices
