Job Summary
Accounts Payable Specialist handles a high-volume AP workflow including processing vendor invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports; manages weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wires, and credit cards); reconciles vendor statements and resolves discrepancies; researches vendor inquiries and internal questions; maintains vendor records including W-9/W-8 documentation; ensures compliance with company policies, IRS regulations, and SOX internal controls; performs remote check deposits; educates internal departments on AP procedures; maintains confidential financial data and supports audits and month-end close; requires 3-5 years of AP experience in a multi-entity environment, ERP experience (Oracle Fusion Cloud Accounts Payable preferred), strong Excel and office skills, and a degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; must live in the Central Time Zone, United States, with a remote work arrangement aligned to CST; salary range suggested at $21.63-$25 per hour equivalent to approximately $44,986–$52,000 annually; provides exposure to high-volume AP processes, vendor management, and SOX-compliant controls.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Accounts Payable experience in a high volume, multi entity environment
- Accounts Payable certification a plus but not required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Thorough knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices P2P (Purchase to Pay)
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Professional written and verbal communication skills for interaction with vendors, employees and AP Team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working within an ERP system; Oracle Fusion Cloud Accounts Payable experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
