Accounts Payable & Accounting Coordinator

Job Summary
Maintain and reconcile accounts payable for stock, special, and job-related orders by posting vouchers against purchase orders, packing slips, and receipts. Prepare monthly aging reports, support month-end reconciliations, and reconcile corporate and fleet credit cards while processing vendor payments via various channels. Serve as the primary contact for vendor inquiries and maintain accounting entries for insurance and prepaid expenses. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, including preparing monthly journal entries and sales recognition reports. Support year-end preparation and participate in ad hoc financial initiatives. This role offers a balanced mix of accounts payable and general accounting responsibilities for a detail-oriented professional within a collaborative safety services team just outside Halifax, NS.
Required Qualifications
- 2 - 5 years of progressive accounting or accounts payable focused experience
- Working knowledge of Canadian GAAP /ASPE or IFRS
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Commerce, Business, and/or Accounting is strongly preferred
