Job Summary
Manage a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, charities, and organizations across Scotland by ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounts and tax preparation. Maintain direct communication with clients to gather information, provide updates, and explain outputs while attending meetings to present financial information. Onboard new clients through scoping, pricing, delivery, and payment processes, and oversee the preparation and review of accounts and tax work including relevant analyses. Schedule and allocate work within the portfolio, providing technical guidance to Assistants and Advisors, while staying up to date with developments in accounting and tax to share knowledge with the team. Ensure all statutory deadlines are met and that processes and checklists are followed and kept up to date.
Required Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA), and/or evidence of equivalent experience and knowledge
- Proficient in the use of all relevant accounting systems and platforms used internally or on behalf of clients
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- In-depth knowledge of industry/sector-specific issues affecting clients
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members through various channels
- Demonstrates professionalism, a helpful demeanour and enthusiasm in daily work
- Manages time effectively and adheres to company policies and processes
- Based in the UK
