Job Summary
Manage daily accounting functions to provide accurate financial reporting, including reviewing and managing general ledgers, journal entries, and closing monthly/yearly cycles. Ensure accounting practices align with GAAP and company policies while acting as backup for the payroll specialist to review semi-monthly and certified payrolls before processing. Support accounts payable processes through monthly reviews and reconciliations, and coordinate the annual submission of 1099s. Research complex financial questions, interpret data, and recommend process improvements. This full-time, on-site role in Chico, CA requires an 8-hour work week with occasional overtime. Candidates must pass a background and credit check.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or business administration, or equivalent experience preferred
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Valid California Driver's License with no more than 1 point and no DUI's
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Thorough knowledge of financial reports, GAAP, and managerial accounting concepts
- High level of discretion and confidentiality with the utmost integrity
- Advanced computer skills with Office 365 with specific expertise in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to think critically, independently, and utilize problem-solving skills
- Ability to pivot between multiple priorities and projects as needed
- Must be detail-oriented and consistently accurate in all aspects of work, including data entry and organization skills
- Demonstrate a strong level of personal and professional integrity and ethics
- Collaborative mindset for internal and cross-functional teamwork
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to maintain highly effective working relationships

- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and use repetitive motions including writing and typing
- Specific vision requirements include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Requires use of near vision with or without correction, and an ability to see details at close range
- Use of computer systems, video displays, keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals for prolonged periods of time
- Use of hands to hold, grip, carry, and physically interact with objects, tools, or controls
- Must be able to navigate all areas of the office, occasionally including areas accessible only by stairs
- Occasionally may require carrying, lifting, pushing and/or pulling objects up to 25 pounds
- This position is a full-time position on-site at our office in Chico, CA
- This role requires on-site presence and does not offer remote work options
- A typical work week is 8 hours daily Monday through Friday with occasional overtime
