Job Summary
Accounting Technician to support the Colorado Department of Public Safety, performing payroll review, establishing and balancing accounts, maintaining general ledgers and financial statements, posting journal entries, preparing financial and statistical reports, reconciling accounts, and reviewing bills from fire departments for wildland deployments nationwide. Requires strong Excel skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication; prior remote work experience expected. This is a full-time, hybrid role with on-site training and monthly on-site visits in Windsor, CO.
Required Qualifications
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to understand complex pay policies
- Intermediate or above level of expertise in Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both email and phone
- Previous remote work experience
- Analytical skills and previous experience in Accounts Payable or reviewing detailed paperwork
