Job Summary
Accounting Supervisor in Lincolnshire, IL (hybrid—3 days in office) leading engagement staff and overseeing compilation and review of financial statements within a CPA-focused firm. Responsibilities include analyzing financial statements, identifying cost-reduction and revenue-enhancement opportunities, streamlining processes to boost productivity, developing and implementing change-management plans, and mentoring staff. Collaborates cross-functionally with tax, assurance, and advisory teams to service clients; maintains up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting standards; participates in client proposals and identifies new business opportunities. Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, 4+ years of experience in a CPA or tax practice, strong accounting skills, and exceptional client-service and communication abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field of study
- CPA license is preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or a tax consulting practice
- Experience working with a high volume of financial statements with tight deadlines
- Strong technical accounting background
- Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and technical skills
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
