Job Summary
Accounting Supervisor responsible for fully participating in Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable processes; researching accounting transactions, reconciling and maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing and reviewing journal entries; supervising staff; ensuring compliance with accounting rules and regulations; coordinating annual physical inventory and investigations of discrepancies; assisting in month/year-end closing, budgeting, and audits; providing backup for payroll processing, invoicing, and cash receipting; supporting external auditors and maintaining ERP systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is preferred
- Five (5) years of payroll and accounting experience including three (3) years' work in the public sector
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience is highly preferred
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and comprehend financial reports, bank statements, spreadsheets, and accounting policies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
