Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

Prepare and post journal entries for equipment lease and loan transactions, then process, review, and reconcile daily accounting activity including cash receipts, payments, payoffs, and adjustments. Reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary systems, perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, and support the month-end closing process. Monitor funding activity, verify booked transactions, and maintain accurate records for financed equipment and residual values. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, support audit requests, and prepare regulatory and management reports. Partner with operations, lending, and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and improve accounting procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Three (3) or more years of accounting, finance, banking, leasing, or equipment finance experience
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis tools
  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial reports and supporting schedules
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs, systems, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance
  • Able to routinely stand, sit, bend and stoop
  • Frequently and regularly required movements using wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare and inspect documents or products and operate machinery
  • Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
  • May be required to travel to training sessions or meetings

Desired Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field desired
  • Three (3) or more years of accounting, finance, banking, leasing, or equipment finance experience preferred
  • Experience in equipment finance, commercial lending, lease accounting, or financial services preferred
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus
