Accounting Specialist (Part Time)

Job Summary
Process Accounts Payable invoices and vendor payments accurately, reviewing requests for completeness before processing and resolving basic discrepancies. Assist with payroll accounting activities by preparing and recording journal entries in NetSuite, while supporting month-end close tasks including routine entries and reconciliations. Maintain organized accounting records, investigate financial transaction errors, and follow established internal controls and policies. Support the Finance team with ad-hoc projects and process improvements as needed. This junior-level role offers hands-on experience in a global fintech environment, with a 9-month temporary assignment open to candidates on the U.S. East Coast.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and general ledger concepts
- Experience with an ERP or accounting system
- NetSuite experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with financial information
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow established processes and procedures while identifying and communicating discrepancies or issues
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the broader Finance team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple priorities
- Must be located on the U.S. East Coast
