Job Summary
Review and approve monthly financial reports and annual budgets for a large portfolio of community association clients while ensuring compliance with service level agreements. Mentor, train, and develop a team of ten or more accounting professionals to maintain high performance and professional growth. Coordinate with property managers, general managers, and Boards of Directors on financial matters, resolve escalated issues, and implement process improvements. Become a subject matter expert in the CiraConnect technology platform and assist with prospective client proposals. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and regulatory statutes applicable to common interest realty associations. This role supports RealManage's mission to deliver exceptional solutions in community management across 16 states and Washington DC.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting degree from a 4-year accredited college/university
- 3 year minimum experience as a Controller, Director, CFO level or higher
- Previous experience supervising an accounting department with a minimum of 10 employees
- Successfully complete and pass in house accounting exam
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting theory and methods of accounting (accrual, cash and modified cash)
- Strong understanding of community association business and financial statements
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- High integrity, honesty, professionalism, and customer service orientation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both internal and external customers
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook, etc)
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach as needed
- Ability to lift or move objects up to 10–15 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies)
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment
- Visual acuity to read printed materials, spreadsheets, and computer screens
- Hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in virtual meetings
- Ability to work in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels
- Ability to work a standard schedule, with occasional extended hours as required
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of real estate, property management and/or outstanding industry experience (2+ years of recent experience) strongly preferred
