Accounting & Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
Process bi-weekly and bonus payroll using the HRIS system, managing deductions, garnishments, and employer HSA contributions while responding to employee and management inquiries. Perform regular inventory reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with the inventory team to improve accuracy. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, annual finance audits, and various accounting reconciliations and records. Support the accounting team with ad-hoc projects as needed. This role requires 3-5 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable, proficiency in accounting software and Excel, and a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years' experience in payroll and accounts payable or similar role
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Must pass drug screening as required
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Proficient typing skills and the ability to operate office software efficiently
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Strong visual and auditory abilities
