Accounting Operations Specialist

Accounting Operations Specialist responsible for daily processing of accounts payable and cash transactions, including cash reconciliations and interfacing with the customer information system. Duties include processing purchase orders, projecting related expenses, self-constructed assets, routine cost center expenses, and creating new work orders in the financial information system to track project costs. Supports month-end close with monthly journal entries and account reconciliations; identifies process improvements and collaborates within a team. Manages vendor setup, invoice processing, tax applications, fraud prevention procedures, and generates checks for refunds and rebates. Maintains vendor documentation (Certificates of Insurance, W-9 Forms), prepares 1099/1042S forms, and assists with recurring and non-recurring journal entries and audit support. Reconciles multiple general ledger accounts, supports internal and external audits, analyzes variances, and investigates root causes. Oversees daily interface between customer information system and financial information system, resolves posting discrepancies, and monitors daily cash, including bank accounts and cash clearing. Creates capital work orders and ensures internal controls and segregation of duties related to accounts payable, cash processing, and journal entries. Cross-trains to provide backup support; performs other duties as assigned. This is a hybrid position with at least 2 days in the office.
