Job Summary
Accounting Operations Specialist responsible for leading monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, maintaining the general ledger, managing accounts payable/receivable and payroll accounting, forecasting cash flow, and preparing financial statements and analyses. Supports audits and regulatory/compliance activities, develops and improves accounting policies and internal controls, mentors accounting staff, and partners with operations, HR, and leadership on strategic initiatives. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, GAAP proficiency, advanced Excel and ERP competence (including QuickBooks), strong analytical and communication skills, and attention to detail. Must be able to oversee close processes, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, analyze variances, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts across a multi-entity environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing accounting processes and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Experience leading month-end and year-end close activities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis functions
- Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting or ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
