Job Summary
Accounting Manager responsible for overseeing daily finance operations, month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, audit coordination, and supervision of finance staff within Elk Grove Village's Finance Department. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, 3+ years of accounting experience (municipal government and supervisory experience preferred), ERP proficiency, and CPA preferred. The role includes oversight of purchase orders, budgeting, internal controls, and collaboration with external auditors; in-office, full-time, 37.5 hours/week with potential extra hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
- minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- ERP system experience
- strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to establish effective working relationships with other departments and public
