Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of General Accounting, including reviewing and approving journal entries, managing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and leading the full month-end and year-end close processes. Establish and train the team on best practices for workpaper preparation, internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. Monitor accounting data to prepare internal financial reports, coordinate audit activities, and identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Mentor accounting staff to drive performance and professional development while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; Hybrid role: 3 days in-office (Tues - Thurs); 2 days remote (Mon & Fri).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior supervisory or people management experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control principles
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent certification
- Experience in a nonprofit or healthcare
- Big 4 experience
- Change management and process improvement experience
