Job Summary
Accounting Manager needed to lead day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, revenue, and asset accounting; manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings with GAAP-compliant reporting; supervise a small accounting team; ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and audits; oversee grant invoicing and fund reporting; drive process improvements (LEAN); provide financial insights to support decisions; mentor staff and collaborate cross-departmentally; serve as backup for the Director of Accounting and play a lead role in audit preparation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated success in improving or modernizing accounting systems/processes
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and audit preparation
