Job Summary
Accounting Manager to own the full accounting function end-to-end across manufacturing and SaaS, lead monthly/quarterly/annual close in US GAAP, build and maintain cost accounting framework, manage revenue recognition, develop and improve SOPs and internal controls, coordinate external audits and tax activities, and partner with Sales and Production to embed robust accounting processes in a scaling environment. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, proficiency in QuickBooks or similar platforms, strong Excel skills, and a demonstrated ability to operate independently with potential to lead a growing team. Hybrid work arrangement in Durham, NC; travel minimal.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including ownership of full close process and financial reporting
- Ability to work independently as the sole accounting staff member with potential to build and lead a team
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and audit preparation
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar mid-market accounting platforms; advanced Excel skills
- High degree of ownership and process orientation to build and fortify structures, document and communicate as you go
- CPA strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing accounting including cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis
