Accounting Manager

Job Summary
Prepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while analyzing transactions to apply U.S. GAAP principles and document conclusions. Maintain general ledger integrity through ongoing monitoring, investigate variances, and communicate findings to management. Oversee team members by approving accounting work, mentoring less experienced staff, and developing internal policies. Coordinate with internal and external auditors for reviews and regulatory examinations. Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and leverage technology. Participate in strategic projects including system implementations, acquisitions, and new product initiatives. Adhere to Seacoast Bank's code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4–8 years of progressive accounting experience
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation or active progress toward CPA certification
- public accounting and/or Big 4 experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Demonstrated ability to prepare, review, and approve complex accounting work
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and appropriately escalate issues when needed
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- experience with ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting concepts
- Proven ability to mentor, coach, and collaborate effectively within a team environment
