Job Summary
Produce and analyze monthly finance reports, ensuring accurate reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger management. Provide cash flow projections, monitor budget performance, and report key metrics to the CEO. Evaluate and streamline accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure maximum profitability. Manage payroll, oversee AP/AR transactions, conduct vendor negotiations, and lead the collection process. Collaborate with business consultants and leadership to refine financial strategies, optimize capital investments, and drive company growth. This role supports a locally owned HVAC and plumbing business with over 48 years of service, focusing on steady growth and long-term reputation protection.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or other business-related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller, preferably within a consumer-facing trades company (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
- GAAP accounting experience with accrual methods
- Solid experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Deep understanding of QuickBooks Online
Desired Qualifications
- Having experience with ServiceTitan software is a plus
- Advanced credentials such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
