Job Summary
Develop month-end closing schedules, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations while managing bank reconciliations and cash flow reporting. Lead accounting staff through supervisory oversight, expense coding guidance, and payment processing reviews to drive continuous process improvement. Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities including confirmations and adjusting entries in compliance with nonprofit standards. Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives to advance Mission objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience managing accounting staff
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting
- Experience in nonprofit accounting
- Experience working within a faith-based organization
- Experience with Sage Intacct
- CPA designation or CPA-track candidate
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and drive projects to completion
