Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a complex multi-entity healthcare organization and partner with the Controller to restore and maintain a timely month-end close. Lead the month-end close process for multiple entities, manage bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, allocations, and intercompany accounting, and coordinate with revenue cycle vendors to ensure accurate cash balancing. Review payroll accounting, physician compensation accruals, and prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and supporting reports for leadership. Supervise and mentor accounting staff while promoting accountability, support annual audits, tax preparation, and regulatory compliance, and identify opportunities to improve processes and internal controls. Maintain GAAP compliance and collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational financial objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Seven (7) or more years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and analytical abilities
- Ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position
- Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
- Must exercise independent judgment and discretion in accounting and supervisory matters
- Must be able to make sound decisions under pressure, particularly during month-end close
- Must manage stress appropriately and maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with employees, vendors, physicians, and leadership
- Must maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment when handling sensitive financial information
