Job Summary
Accounting Manager at Opportunity International to support the Controller in overseeing global nonprofit accounting operations across the U.S. headquarters and international subsidiaries; manages day-to-day accounting activities, strengthens internal controls, supports audits and Form 990, and drives standardization of processes across international operations. Directly manages one Senior Accountant and collaborates with the Controller and CFO on technical accounting, process improvement, and global compliance. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA, and public accounting experience (Big 4/national firm preferred), plus nonprofit accounting experience and strong U.S. GAAP knowledge. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, with international or multinational experience; English fluency required with French or Spanish desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA
- Public accounting experience required; Big 4 or national firm preferred
- Prior nonprofit accounting experience including fund accounting and grant compliance preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP including ASC 958
- Experience with audits, internal controls, and technical accounting
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience
- International subsidiary or multinational experience
