Job Summary
Accounting Manager role based in the Albuquerque office, reporting to the CFO and collaborating with the Grants Administration Director. Responsible for advanced accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and grant requirements, and supporting audit preparation. Performs complex accounting analysis, assists with month-end/year-end close, budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, and general ledger management; provides technical accounting support, identifies issues, and helps ensure integrity of financial data. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (or related field), minimum five years of accounting experience, strong Excel and accounting software skills (e.g., MIP Sage, QuickBooks), and experience with nonprofit accounting and grant-related budgeting. CPA designation or CPA candidacy preferred; hybrid work schedule with three days in office and two remote; salary $80,000-$100,000 DOE.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum five (5) years accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with account reconciliation and financial analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
