Job Summary
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and aging reconciliations to ensure timely resolution of variances. Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and management financial reports. Coordinate audit schedules, support documentation, and PBC requests for internal and external auditors while participating in walkthroughs and SOX testing. Analyze project performance, including earned revenue and cost-to-complete estimates, to identify financial risks and prepare monthly work-in-progress reports. Manage business unit operating budgets and facilitate billing and collections activities to optimize performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with WIP accounting and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control environments
- Advanced Excel skills include PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Experience with ERP systems such as COINS
Desired Qualifications
- CPA preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Experience with a publicly traded company or SEC-regulated environment preferred
- Construction, contracting, engineering, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred
