Accounting Manager

Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close. Prepare journal entries, reconcile key balance-sheet accounts, and manage prepaid, fixed-asset, and accrual schedules. Support the Controller with financial statement preparation, tax documentation, and vendor invoice processing. Serve as the primary accounting contact for client departments, coordinate approvals, and review client invoices while monitoring accounts receivable aging. Provide guidance to support staff and improve internal workflows, documentation, and turnaround times. Manage payroll and utilize QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and preferred tools like Expensify and Gusto. Requires five to ten years of progressive accounting experience, onsite five days per week, and strong proficiency in general ledger and reconciliation processes.
Required Qualifications
- Five to ten years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and month-end close
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work onsite five days per week
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors and internal teams
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial and employee information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
- Positive, team-oriented mindset with the judgment and initiative to take ownership of accounting processes
