Job Summary

Manage day-to-day corporate accounting operations, including the monthly financial close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Lead, train, and develop a team of accountants and accounting associates, setting expectations and supporting professional growth with 1-3 direct reports. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for corporate cost centers and balance sheet accounts. Prepare or review monthly financial statements and variance analysis for corporate entities. Oversee corporate AP processes, including invoice coding, approvals, and payment runs. Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports and supporting schedules. Coordinate with payroll, HR, and other departments to ensure accurate recording of corporate expenses and allocations. Support lender compliance reporting, audit preparation, and tax compliance activities. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reporting accuracy. This role involves standard office work with the ability to use a computer for extended periods. Occasional travel to properties, market offices, or corporate meetings may be required. This position is 100% in-office. The role requires working in office during standard business hours. Remote work or telecommuting is not an option for this position.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting principles
  • Experience managing or supervising accounting staff
  • Proficiency in Yardi, NetSuite, or similar accounting ERP platforms
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods
  • 100% in-office presence
  • Standard business hours availability
  • Occasional travel to properties, market offices, or corporate meetings

Desired Qualifications

  • CPA
  • Commercial real estate experience
