Job Summary
Supervise daily Finance Department operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll while maintaining general ledger integrity. Lead the annual audit, coordinate financial reporting, and assist with budget preparation, capital planning, and grant administration. Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, and municipal regulations by preparing federal and state filings. Provide financial analysis to leadership and supervise, develop, and evaluate a team of four employees. Manage the annual vehicle sticker program and implement process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a closely related field
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or financial management experience
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with financial management/ERP systems
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) years in local government or public-sector finance
- CPA license
- Significant governmental accounting and financial management experience (for candidates without a CPA)
