Job Summary
Hands-on Accounting Lead/Manager responsible for owning the monthly close from start to finish, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, payroll entries, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery. Serves as the hands-on reviewer of accounting work, maintains clean support and organized workpapers, and escalates judgment items as needed. Protects revenue and supports billing/AR integrity, identifying exceptions and leakage risks. Leads a team of 3 accounting and billing specialists to optimize workflows, introduce practical automation or AI-enabled tools, and improve follow-up and reliability without weakening controls. Manages full cycle accounting for acquisitions, including opening balances, revenue, payables, and payroll, and participates in due diligence, deal close, and post-merger integration. Success is evidenced by a streamlined month-end close, organized schedules, early identification of revenue/spend risks, and scalable operations as the business grows.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience
- Strong month-end close ownership and review experience
- Solid knowledge of AP, AR, payroll accounting, accruals, and reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting extracts and schedules
