Job Summary
Supervise AP Specialists and manage accounts payable and receivable, including ACH payments, settlement checks, and vendor invoices. Monitor the accounting inbox daily for operating expenses, review and approve transactions, and process payments for medical records, police reports, and vendor invoices. Handle settlement deposits, client disbursements, and reporting in QuickBooks and Excel while maintaining organized financial documentation and performing bank reconciliations. Track client retainers, monitor aging reports, record payroll expenses, and provide customized internal reports for business strategy. This hybrid role includes two days per week at home after initial training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5–7+ years of accounting experience
- some of those years preferably being in a law firm
- Strong knowledge of legal accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Truist Financial apps, Bill.com, Filevine)
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
- Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge and skills (Pivot Tables, formulas)
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP Principles
