Job Summary
Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day GAAP operational accounting functions, including full monthly, quarterly, and annual close, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and fund accounting activities. Role requires hands-on management of a small accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of GAAP-compliant reporting, applying fund accounting principles to reporting and allocations, maintaining internal controls, supporting system/workflow improvements, and providing technical accounting guidance on complex transactions. Strong preference for experience in financial services (asset management/fund administration) and proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
Required Qualifications
- Five+ years of progressive accounting experience in financial services (asset management, fund administration, banking, lending, mortgage, or related sectors)
- Direct exposure to fund accounting including familiarity with fund structures under GAAP
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and ability to apply guidance to non-routine transactions
- Experience managing a close process and reviewing the work of others
- Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems; experience with industry-relevant platforms a plus
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to translate accounting concepts for non-accounting stakeholders
