Accounting Manager – Energy Accounting

Job Summary
Oversee full-range general accounting duties for Wholesale Generation, managing daily functions including accounts receivable and payable processing, invoicing, payroll, journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, and period close. Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements ensuring compliance with US GAAP and support parent company conversion to IFRS. Coordinate with external auditors, manage tax compliance and filings, and establish internal controls to safeguard assets. Oversee cash flow, negotiate banking terms, and provide key financial analysis for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize billing and reporting processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years Accounting and Finance management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or another business-related field
- Retail electric industry experience
- Working knowledge of the ERCOT energy market
- Strong Accounting experience (including AR/AP invoice process, bookkeeping and payment process)
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced Excel
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
- Adeptness with accounting software and ERP systems
- proficiency with SAP 4 HANA
