Job Summary
Lead and manage the Financial Oversight team, overseeing associates responsible for monthly accounting and financial reporting for assigned clients. Review month-end financial statements, account reconciliations, cash-flow reports, budgets, and other deliverables while coaching staff on technical guidance and best practices. Coordinate with tax professionals to support planning and compliance, conduct introductory calls with prospective clients, and oversee new-client onboarding including fee proposals. Monitor deadlines, time entries, engagement budgets, and client billing while identifying process improvements and advisory opportunities. Work Monday through Thursday in the San Rafael office with Friday remote work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Previous experience supervising, reviewing, or managing accounting staff
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience with budgeting, cash-flow reporting, and financial analysis
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff workflow and multiple client accounting engagements simultaneously
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate directly with clients
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional judgment
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and collaborate across departments
Desired Qualifications
- CPA firm, outsourced accounting, Client Accounting Services (CAS), family office, or public accounting experience preferred
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and privately held businesses preferred
- Experience with family-office reporting, personal financial statements, budgeting, and cash-flow planning is a plus
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience with fee proposals, client onboarding, business development, or expanding client services is a plus
