Job Summary
Lead and manage daily accounting operations and month-end close processes for operational areas, including investments in debt securities, borrowings, foreign currency transactions, cash management, leases, fixed assets, prepaids, accrual and expense variance analysis, and various fee-generating bank products. Monitor and analyze accounting data by reviewing monthly and quarterly GL account variance analyses, while establishing and maintaining robust internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures. Review and prepare schedules and reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors, assist with audits of financial statements and disclosures, and support accounting requirements for new products, services, and system enhancements. Drive improvements and automation initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality, performing ad-hoc analyses and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements for financial institutions
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or public company environments
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- CPA license or MBA strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP systems and automation tools
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior management and cross-functional teams
- Banking or financial services experience preferred
